Job Description

A Life Skills Special Education Teacher position is available for early childhood learners aged 3 to 6 years in an elementary school setting. The role involves working within a resource inclusion classroom alongside four paraprofessionals and another certified teacher, supporting a caseload of approximately 19 students. This contract runs for the current school year with a full-time schedule of 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each students needs.
• Collaborate closely with related services staff to ensure comprehensive support for students.
• Provide specialized instruction and foster an inclusive learning environment in the classroom.
• Support paraprofessionals and coordinate with other educators to deliver effective educational strategies.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a valid Texas State Teaching License with a Special Education EC-12 Endorsement.
• Proven experience in writing and implementing IEPs.
• Comfortable and skilled in working with young learners with diverse educational needs in an inclusion setting.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities to engage with students, staff, and families.
