Job Description

Perform finishing activities to complete final fabrication and assembly of hollow metal frames. Use hand-held grinding and painting equipment to finish hollow metal frames. Perform other general shop tasks.
  • Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits; required: use of eye/ear protection, masks; compliance with OSHA standards, organization safety standards, and dress code
  • Layout, organize, align, and secure parts and assemblies to properly finish each frame
  • Perform finishing tasks by properly using bondo, grinding equipment, squares, clamps, tape measures, rulers, and painting equipment
  • Examine the finished product and compare to order specifications
  • Perform other finishing responsibilities as needed
  • Organize and put away incoming product/materials
  • Stage outgoing product for pick-up or delivery
  • Assist loading/unloading trucks and moving of material/product, may require use of forklift
  • Notify parties regarding status of received product in warehouse and ensure necessary paperwork is collected or distributed to front office staff
  • Record and place FSC material in designated area, following company FSC procedures
  • Alter hollow metal doors/wood doors as required, install lite kits
  • Make local deliveries
  • Perform on-site labor/service
  • Assist with year end inventory
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of finishing/welding equipment and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Ability to properly use a tape measure and ruler
  • Basic communication and comprehension skills
  • Application of basic math and geometry
  • Ability to follow written, visual (drawings or images), and verbal instructions and work independently
  • Physical Abilities: Perform repeated physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body
  • Physical Strength - The ability to lift at least 50 pounds unassisted and heavier weights with assistance
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
  • Position may require a valid driver's license and be insurable to drive

Additional Information

Salary: $21-$24 per hour, based on experience

Hours: 6am-2:30pm

Employment for this position is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and drug screening. This role is classified as safety-sensitive, and as such, is subject to a zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy. Drug screening will be conducted in accordance with federal regulations, including but not limited to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and applicable state and local laws. A positive drug test or failure to comply with the screening process will result in disqualification from employment.
