POSITION SUMMARY/JOB PURPOSE:
The Medical Assistant Specialistis responsible for facilitating basic medical and non-medical aspects of apatient's treatment at the Mental Health Clinic. This is achieved throughcollaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members and providingphysical and psychological support to patients. The Medical Assistant Specialist collects and maintains record of apatient's vitals, height, weight, and BMI. This position provides the physicianwith data to appropriately treat patients on anti-psychotic medications toreduce symptoms, achieve a higher level of functioning and/or discharge fromactive treatment.
This position works independently,under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodicmeetings.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, OTHERQUALIFICATIONS:
Education Required: High School Diploma or GED. CNA or CMAcertification.
Experience Required: At least 6 months experience in a healthcaresetting.
