Certified Coding Specialist

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Certified Coding Specialist responsible for coding and abstracting clinical and demographic data for inpatient encounters. The role emphasizes maintaining patient confidentiality, identifying documentation discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with standardized coding regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Code and abstract clinical and demographic data for inpatient encounters using standardized coding regulations.
• Identify and resolve clinical documentation and charge capture discrepancies to improve documentation quality and data integrity.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and information security.
• Perform medical necessity checks utilizing the CMS website when necessary.
• Follow up on accounts with documentation or billing issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 5 years of total coding experience
• CCS or CPC Certification
• Inpatient or facility coding exprience
• Specialty experience of ER/Pain Management/Injections/Infusions
