Job Description
Summary:
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality psychiatric care to our clients. This position is responsible for conducting psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing mental health conditions, prescribing medications, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to support each client’s wellness and recovery journey.
Minimum Qualifications
Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Florida (PMHNP required)
DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances
Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Minimum 1 year of experience providing psychiatric care (preferred)
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset
Experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment settings is a plus
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments
Diagnose mental health disorders and develop individualized treatment plans
Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications with appropriate monitoring
Provide medication education and support to clients and families
Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and other members of the care team
Participate in treatment planning, care coordination, and clinical team meetings
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
Adhere to all regulatory, ethical, and clinical guidelines and standards
Support crisis intervention and stabilization efforts as needed
